marshmallow profile now with text modifiers!

when we first designed marshmallow, we used icon modifiers to give the profile its own personality. it felt playful and worked well with the softer, rounder shape of the keycaps.

as we’ve continued working with the profile, we wanted to bring a little more of what makes osume feel like osume into marshmallow. for us, a big part of that is the typography. the letters and legends have always been one of our favourite parts of designing a keycap set, and they’re a big part of what gives each set its character.

so for newer marshmallow sets, we’ve started using text-based modifiers instead. it’s a small change, but we really like how it brings more of the osume look into marshmallow while still keeping the profile feeling soft and playful. the icons were a big part of marshmallow’s original look, and this just feels like a natural next step as the profile continues to grow.

any marshmallow keycap set labelled with kit version m2025v1 uses the updated text-based modifiers.
