tariffs arriving soon for US customers

posted on 04.03.25
hello everyone,

after months of anxiously waiting on de minimis and tariff ramifications, the US government has formally set out a plan to cancel de minimis on May 2nd. because of this, we highly recommend our US customers to place their orders before then to avoid potential tariff impact.

tariff details
starting May 2nd, goods could be subject to increased tariffs, with rates potentially as high as 79% due to:
  • 25% (2018 tariffs)
  • 10% (Feb 2025)
  • 10% (March 2025)
  • 34% (April 2nd)

we have been in close communication with our customs brokers and shipping partners, and the figures above reflect the latest information provided to us. as a result, our product prices may be subject to an increase in the future.

dates
  • April 29th: last day to place orders for US customers before temporary pause
  • April 30th: all orders will be shipped by morning
  • May 2nd: tariffs officially in place

to take advantage of current prices and avoid potential increases, we encourage you to place your order soon. after April 29th, re-opening of US orders will take place only when we feel we are ready and able to provide the same level of service that is currently offered. since the start of 2025, we have been working behind the scenes to mitigate the impact on osume to US customers including opening operations state-side. we are excited to share more details when the time comes.

thank you again for your support as we navigate this disruptive transition. our plans to suspend shipment to the states is only temporary, we are not going anywhere and have more exciting products and plans as the year moves along that we can't wait to share with everyone!

if you have any questions regarding the tariffs, shipments or general inquiries please feel free to reach out to hello@osume.com
