testing your pcb
1b. ensure PCB is fully functional before building
- plug daughterboard and JST, connect to usevia.app
- test tab > turn on matrix tab
- plug one switch into the PCB and press the switch
- ensure all keys are lit up on via
pcb and switch assembly
2. building the PCB and attaching switches
- insert TX clip in stabilizers
- optional step: add switch foam if desired
- once clipped in, insert tx stabilizer stoppers
- optional step: add plate foam at this step if desired
- note: the o-ring does not properly accommodate the plate foam so it is recommended to opt it out if you are choosing the o-ring mount
- add POM or FR4 plate and ensure both foam and plate are aligned
- insert one switch in each corner to keep everything aligned
- start inserting switches to the assembly (side note: if you’re not using any foams, it is recommended to use the plate fork to support the plate)
- ensure that the switches are properly seated on the plate
- remove case foam backing and attach to the assembly if desired (keep the backing on if eventual removal is desired)
case assembly
3. building the case
- start by attaching provided feet to the case (flat or bubble)
- unscrew the 8 screws securing the bottom case to the top case
- optional step: swap out the badge if desired
- install case insulation sheet
mounting styles
4a. follow these steps if top mount is desired (stiffer typing feel, deeper sound)
- attach the assembly to the top case with the provided screws
- connect JST cable to the PCB
- close and fasten the case
- attach keycaps
- complete
4b. follow these steps if o-ring is desired (softer typing feel, sharper sound)
- install provided o-ring switch in top right corner
- install provided o-ring by placing it between the plate and PCB
- connect JST cable to the PCB
- place assembly onto the bottom case and tuck in parts of the o-ring that may interfere with closing the case
- close and fasten the case
- attach keycaps
- complete
