common issues

when connecting my play75 it shows a driver error and I am unable to type

the play75 uses a magnetic dongle to connect the top case to the pcb. during transit, this dongle can occasionally become dislodged, which may cause your device to display a driver error or prevent it from being recognized altogether.

to resolve this, you’ll need to open the keyboard case and reposition the magnetic dongle located beneath the pcb to fit in place. in some cases, the ribbon cable (the thin cable that connects to the dongle) may be damaged, which can cause similar issues. if so, replace it using one of the spare cables included with your play75. refer to the troubleshooting video guide above.

my keyboard works in wireless mode but when I plug it in it doesn't type

you're likely in wireless/dongle mode, in which case the keyboard won't work in wired mode. use FN+T to toggle into wired mode. you can always check the active mode you're in which is indicated by an icon on the main screen (accessed using FN+PgUp) at the top.

my screen isn’t turning on even when it’s plugged in

make sure the switch located underneath the right shift key is flipped up and the ribbon cable is connected securely. refer to the guide on how to adjust the ribbon correctly. refer to the troubleshooting video guide above.

some of my keys aren't responding or require a lot of force to activate

this may be due to a switch that came loose during transit or wasn’t fully seated during assembly. you can refer to our customization guide for steps on how to safely open your keyboard. once opened, remove the plate/pcb assembly, place it on a flat surface, and press the keys so the switch is fully seated into the pcb before reassembling the board. refer to the troubleshooting video guide above.

the screwdriver provided in the box doesn’t fit properly with the screws. what should i do?

if the screwdriver provided with the keyboard does not fit properly, do not try to use it by force as it will strip the screws. please use the replacement screwdriver provided, or a personal screwdriver that grips adequately.

i can't connect to the play75 app

to connect to the play75 app, your keyboard needs to be connected through the cable and in wired mode. if the play75 shows up as a device but doesn't connect, you may need to reconnect the cable while in wired mode.

some of my keys sound and feel sticky when pressed

the switch underneath is likely over-lubed. remove the switch and wipe off any excess lube from the switch and the foam underneath using a tissue. if the issue persists, you may need to fully clean and re-lube the switch from scratch.

the issue i have isn't listed here
